PURE LONDON COLOURFUL DESIGNS
Dear Secret Agents,
I recently attended Pure London, a trade show of emerging and established brands and designers. As I walked around I started spotting colourful Secret Agents all over. I saw designers and brands who use colours and funky style. Frankly, I was a little unprepared for this mission because there was too much colour and very little time. I recruited as many Secret Agents as I could and below I’m presenting those most dedicated to our Revolution. Viva La Colour Revolution!
First I recruited some funky colourful shoes. This Secret Agent goes by the pseudonym of Imeldas’ Secret – named after the sublime shoe addict Imelda Marcos. These shoes carry a secret. Rafaela, the designer and architect behind the brand, says she caters for true collectors. If you are looking for some feminine coquetry with of bit of everyday flirt, look no further. Below are the shoes I flirted with at Pure London. Wouldn’t you?
Second, I recruited some wearable art in colourful pastels by the Romanian designer Kiki Dimitrescu, an ex-lawyer who followed her heart and now turns her paintings into unique wearable designs. You can get a painting, or the design inspired by it. Or both? She is so passionate about it, I couldn’t help but hug her. More than once. But that’s not all. I fell in love with her Sirop ready to wear spring collection where she mixes silk and pastels in wonderfully tailored shapes. I am preparing a Secret Mission with her, but for now, just a little taster below from her Pure London presentation.
Third, I recruited some more candy colours by AnamayaDesign from Canary Islands. Modern, bright and daring! While the style of their designs is very trendy young and may look fast fashion, they are not. Their woven materials are of very high quality. And who doesn’t love a pair of espadrilles to match?
Fourth, I discovered funky leather backpacks by BBco London. Inspiration behind the bags comes from Bombay where designer Clementine lived for many years. Traditional leather artistry meets urban design, in crock leather, colours and dusty gold. Yum! Below were my favourite ones from her Pure London presentation.
Fifth, I discovered a Secret Agent who woke up one day and said ‘I want to design a tote bag for me and my friends’. This was Nikki from Fred & Eve. Their large patent leather shoppers caught my eye. I think they are perfect for our Tru’ Revolution missions. We can hide quite a few items in those bags.
Last but not least, I present you some Italian colourful millinery extravaganza. A family owned business Alex Cappelli offer unique hats for Royal Ascot or colourful pieces for everyday fashionistas. I tip my hat to them. Viva La Colour Revolution!
